‘Three travellers meet on a road…one carries a mask on his back…..where have they come from? What adventures will they have? Beautifully illustrated with colourful, often humorous, prints by the famous artist Hiroshige and accompanied by Japanese music, the Tōkaidō Road team bring a children’s story-telling version of their critically acclaimed production in to schools in the form of the traditional Japanese art form, Kamishibai….’
Absolutely marvellous – I can’t thank Melissa and Tomoko enough for this spell-binding afternoon. The children loved it and it provided a perfect and unique introduction to Hiroshige’s world encouraging people to look deeply into these pictures

We’ve been transported to another world – I’ve never seen the children quite so entranced by a visiting production. It exceeded all expectations – thank you

Thank you for opening up a window into another word – what a wonderful afternoon. The children were truly inspired by the performance and we have been talking about the art, the music and Japan since your visit.
